Our fourth lesson, dated Sunday April 19, focused primarily on the “growl” or “singing” while playing the clarinet. Several participants requested that I teach this technique through the tune Araber Tanz. As with every lesson we go over the scale or mode that the tune is based on as well as the rhythmic underpinning that in many ways defines the tune.
